'Desire The Reckless'

I got the pleasure and privilege to work on the art direction and design of another great album by Lorrainville called 'Desire The Reckless'. Apart from a band, Lorrainville is also the project of successful producer Guido Aalbers that originated from a Facebook game called 'Make your own album cover'. The band is a collection of some of the best Dutch musicians who record Americana songs sent in by...well, anyone. For this record Aalbers received over 100 submissions to choose from. People could also submit a photo for the cover.

So to start, I received this beautiful cover photo by Lieke Anna Heartjens, a great album title and I knew the record would have an Americana sound to it. Which made me work on the lettering of the album title and song titles by hand to get the right match.

I also received photos from the recording sessions which were held in an old theater in Kampen, NL. The great, round chandelier of the theater is pictured on the inner sleeve. Other pictures can be seen on the inlay together with the lyrics and credits.
The cd and lp together.
The handdrawn song titles on the back of the record.
The inside of the record sleeves with a photo of the musicians recording on stage of an old theater. On the inner sleeve you can see the chandelier of the old theater.
Lorrainville started with a game on Facebook in january of 2011 called 'Make Your Own Album Cover'. Also handdrawn.
Record label. Vinyl is 180 grams.
