Tecate: Zodiac Calender 2015

The Project:

This is a quick viral video requested by Olabuenaga Chemistry, produced and shooted by the Tim Tadder Photography Team, for the brand Tecate, oriented to promote the Zodiac Calender 2015 on the Social Media platform.

The main goal was to create a seductive clip with the girls of the calender sending kisses (using making-of footage), while keeping a sexy rhythm and an intimate connection with the audience.

It's important to notice that, because the Facebook videos automatically play without audio, it needed to have a nice visual pace to engage users and motivate them to click and watch.

Strategy:

In order to achieve the mentioned goals, and give the video a sexy and cool feeling, the first step was to find some playful moments inside the footage and place them as bridges in strategic editing points to avoid the repetitive action of sending kisses become too predictable and visually boring.

The next step was to actually organize the kisses (or at least those who actually existed) and keep them in rhythm by usings time-remapping tools (and even by time reversing some shots) to maintain a fast pace and break constantly the time continuity to create visual interest.

Aditionally, because the light conditions of the shooting weren't the ideal, a color grading was necessary to match the scenes, using also some depth effects and re-framing to provide selective focus and maintain the interest always in the girls.

Finally, to wrap the video and bring back the atention to the calender itself, a simple animation was done by using the images of the girls and a space background with the zodiaco constelations, adding depth blur and lens distortion to enhace the movement feeling, and ultimately closing with the campaign logo.

As for the music, a low-slung, sleazy garage rock was used to provide a fast and playful rhythm, while mantaining at the same time that indie and menly sound so iconic of the Tecate brand.
