Alice was a young mom in Taiwan. She just gave birth to her first child - a lovely girl, Cathy. Like many other novice mothers, she went online to search for baby nursing advices and some good-quality childcare products. However, to her surprise, baby care informations on Taiwan websites were often dated and fragmentary. Also, many well-known brands are not offered. Occasionally, She share a picture of a Japanese child bike on her Facebook, and surprisingly many young parents asked her whether they could group-buy the bike. Alice then initiated her first group-buying order. In that week, she signed a minimum order contract with Japanese bike manufacture ,and 200 bikes were sold on her Facebook. Although the profit was limited, this event bolstered her confidence. Then, she started her group-buying business on Facebook.

In the second year of her business, she felt Facebook’s functionality can not fulfil her, so she hire me to tailor the website user interface. The website had three main sections: group-buying, baby nursing articles and discussion forum. We planned  to make this website not only functional but also emotional. We wished to create a genuine, generous and warm-hearted online community that young parents can unconditionally share information and help each others with own experiences. I joined their team as an UI designer and developer. After two-month-long design process and iterations, we came up with the website - 媽咪愛(mamilove.com.tw)
