The Brief: Re-design the Sky Sports landing and video page across three devices: desktop, tablet and iPhone.

The Concept: Following my research I identified the main area for improvement was the categorisation of the videos, as presently there is little in the way of categorisation or personalisation. Therefore I created a filter system to allow the user to categorise specifically which content is shown. I added features such as the ability to 'like' a video for life on your account and the option to watch later which adds the video to a playlist for that session. I added three sorting options: recommended, based on cookies allowing personalistion, most popular and date uploaded. I also added a minimize option when the site is being used on desktop and tablet to maximise user experience by allowing easy navigation between player and browse.
Desktop landing page. Filter options displayed as menu at top. The new banner changes to become specific to current sporting events. Thumbnails shown by large square images. When hovered over, description and 'watch later' icon appear (see second thumbnail.)
Demonstration of filter menu. Multiple options can be selected from either category. When options are selected they are displayed as tags underneath the menu bars to indicate which content is being shown. These can be easily clicked off to re-define what is being shown.

Video page features large video player. Breadcrumb menu at top indicates how user has arrived here for easy navigation. Description, like, save, share and tags related to video displayed on right. Tags allow user to explore similar content, for example clicking on 'Bradley Wiggins' tag leads user to search results for this phrase. Also, related videos are displayed underneath above new comment feature allowing interaction between users.
When hovered over, video player shows minimize option as well as volume, full screen and current playing position.
When the player is minimized it appears in the bottom right of the screen and leads you back to where you left off browsing before reaching video player page.
The video player will be large, taking up most of the screen.
My iPad landing page has been condensed into rows of 3 thumbnails. I have also condensed the second tier of the menu bar into one button, on the top right side of the menu.
When this button is pressed, the thumbnails will move over to the right and different options will appear.
I have shuffled around the layout of the video page so that related videos are on the right and the description and comments have been condensed so that they are only shown when the drop down arrow is pressed.
How the video page would be displayed on the tablet.
I have omitted the filter system in my iPhone landing page as it is too intricate for such a small screen. The videos can be shown via the sorting options and categorised by search, sport or TV show.
I have once more condensed the second tier of the menu into one button, which when pressed shows the options as above.
How it would be displayed on an iPhone.
The video page includes a tab system to categorise video information, comments and related videos.
