FRI & FKKT signage and way-finding system

Faculty of Computer and Information Science ( Slovenian abbreviation is "FRI" ) and Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology ("FKKT") are newly built faculties in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The two faculties that together have around 3000 students, share a common entrance, or better to say, share the building that is also the entrance to both faculties.
The challenge  was to design a signage system that would work with the University visuals, and could work for both faculties and the shared building.
Some of the original sketches and floors plans with the planed locations of the signs.
Main entrance with Univesity visuals
The modern architecture with lots of glass and open space gave us an opportunity to experiment with locations of the signs. The elevator in the central building was used as a huge sign, since is highly visible from the main entrance. It explains where are the faculties, main lecture halls, restaurant and library.
The three buildings are all connected with a glass bridge, but architecturally, they all totally diverse. The same typography and icon system was used in all three buildings but a different methods of sign construction was used because of the diversity in the architecture.
