Triad Health Project is a Greensboro, NC based non-profit that provides assistance to people living with HIV/AIDS and their families. Each year they host several fundraisers involving the community including their annual Winter Walk each December.
As I was working on the concept for this direct mail piece, I knew that I wanted it to have a warm and cozy hand-made feel. I also knew that I wanted the mailer to feel like Winter without evoking the feeling of Christmas. As I was designing the logo, I came up with the idea of incorporating a hand embroidered ribbon as the “I” in my call to action lending a bit to the handmade feel. The outer envelope invites the reader to follow the dotted line. Once the mailer is taken out of the envelope, the logo is front and center. You can also see the same red dotted line carried into the mailer. The inner mailer is informational, but is also designed to get the reader excited to participate in the walk. I chose to make the inner mailer rounded to contrast with the outer envelope and to showcase the snowflake die cuts regardless if the mailer is open or closed.
