Chef Kendra Curtis has compiled a collection of recipes for beginning bakers. She would like to produce a cookbook that will be available anywhere cookbooks are sold (Barnes & Noble, Target, Amazon.com, etc.). She currently doesn’t have any branding, but would like to appeal to women, especially moms. Her recipes are simple and easy to make in a short amount of time. 

 

The overall aesthetic of the cookbook is feminine, fun, and friendly. The hand-bound spine, horizontal orientation, and simplified cooking icons will make this book stand apart from other cookbooks on the shelves. The cookbook appears high-end with hardcover Japanese binding, glossy paper, and parchment endsheets. The inside features full page, eye-catching photographs next to the directions. The directions are visually compelling and easy to follow because of the way they are divided up on the top with oven temperature, yield amount, etc. The layouts vary from page to page to further provide visual interest. The book can even stand alone as a decorative piece in a kitchen.
