Harvard GSD 75th Anniversary

The 2011-12 academic year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Harvard Graduate School of Design. As a means of celebrating the milestone, the GSD will host a number of events throughout the year, along with the exhibition “Dispatches from the GSD: 075 Years of Design”, which will be on display for the duration of the Fall semester. The GSD asked BMD to develop an identity and complementary graphic language to support the exhibit which was assembled by a team of students, professors, alumni and staff, in order to showcase the 75 years of work at the GSD.

They wanted an identity that was smart/ informed, bold, unexpected, celebratory, and projective. 075 references that idea of long-term and forward thinking institution. The identity is a flexible system showcasing some of the items featured in the exhibit. BMD also designed a few key applications of the identity including introductory and closing walls to the exhibit, apparel, posters, and exhibit souvenirs
