Internet and the right to be forgotten
In 2014, the Court of Justice of the European Union gave a ruling, that every citizen has the right to apply for disconnection specific Google search results of its name. However, information must first be classified as inappropriate, (now) irrelevant, inadequate in relation to the purposes for which they are processed, or because of the passage of time.
According to the ruling, it started to talk even about the "right to be forgotten".
A single court decision, even if it's only European's range, may be the first step on the road to change - not even much as the Internet itself, as our understanding of what the network really is.

We gave our memory up to servers which replicate endlessly all of our memories. Our experiences and sensations are now living independently from us.
