Located at Srijaya Building in western Surabaya. Kayu means wood in Indonesian and symbolized warmth and intimacy as reflected on the environmental design. The chef and owner Hiroki Mimaki, has reinterpreted Kayu's menu as Contemporary Japanese in a modern prespective. There are four dining room decorated in Japanese traditional tatami style, a wooden sushi bar, and everything is built from several kind of wood materials. Presenting a semi art-gallery featuring several artists such as Seiki Torige for the glass art and interior design, Wendy thomas for the stoneware products, et cetera.
