ATELIER BURKHALTER-SUMI

Train Station in Biasca. The project acts as a link between two diametrically opposed urban reality: the urban grid of Biasca, and the waterfall of Santa Petronilla on the mountains above the station.

The project has about a second axis that governs the relationship between the two pre-existing buildings for swiss historic trains.

Two units of the bridge then, the main one that goes over the railroad tracks and a secondary through the first building to the North.

A serpentine accompanies the viewer to the ground-floor.

The most important vertical element enters in contrast strongly with the presence of the waterfall, like a tower. It, with a single movement, brings the user to the intermediate level of the waterfall.
