Danish competition "into the wild"

 

 

Existing territory is divided into two opposite each other zones: the modern city and wild nature. Based on this there is a need to create a smooth transition from the rigid urban environment to the pristine nature. Waterfall - a natural phenomenon, unique in its kind is the border between two worlds, as in most cases waterfalls are hiding deep grottoes and caves that open to a person other side of of the environment. I tried to apply the “waterfall” as the original connecting element, which performs several functions:

1.entrance group
2.public space
3.street Theater
4.recreation area

Plan architectural structures is presented in the form of two trapezoids total dimensions 34x14 m. Water supply system is carried out using modern digital technology - Digital Water Curtain equipped touch sensors that regulate the flow of water, depending on the location of the object.
Facade and roof covered with sheet metal, creating a mirror effect - reflections of the environment. The frame is made of corten steel, the inner surface of the walls and ceiling are painted in a dark color, thus creating the image of the cave
