OPay is a leading mobile money (MMO) and financial technology platform in Nigeria.
It is what you’d call a super app, constantly releasing amazing new products, features and upgrades to solve the needs of various demographic profiles and businesses in Nigeria. One of such products is the OPay Instant Debit Card.
The OPay Instant Debit Card is a physical debit card that gives customers multiple payment options and can be used across different channels such as WEB, POS and ATMs 24/7. With the OPay card customers will get bonuses like cashback, instant notifications, improved interest rates.
My role as Art Director involved leading the design team to develop (over 20) Card design concepts, collaborating with the marketing team to create key visuals, wall graphics and merchandise to:
1. Create top of mind awareness to existing merchants and prospective customers
2. Drive massive adoption and usage of the instant card nationwide
3. Increase word of mouth advertisement for OPay brand.
By the end of December 2023–about 13 months after launch– tech news outlets reported that over 5 million Instant Debit Cards had been distributed through 17 physical stores nationwide.
