The Wild Reader Festival 2024 is organized by nowhere bookstore and Ground Zero Creation, taking place at the West Honganji Temple on April 20th to 21st for a two-day market. Readers play a crucial role in both bookstores and the book industry. However, the organizers firmly believe that today's era is not only the age of readers but also the age of authors. There are more people who wish to express opinions and showcase themselves than those who eagerly listen to stories and others. In this era dominated by social media, individuals often find themselves constantly expressing and promptly responding, making it increasingly luxurious to have the time and space for listening, reading, and contemplating.

Nevertheless, becoming an excellent reader is a prerequisite to becoming an excellent author. This is the profound realization we have gained over the past two years through interactions with numerous authors and readers. Here, "reading" doesn't merely refer to reading books but signifies "being willing to temporarily set aside oneself and delve into the world of others", whether it be reading streets, music, films, or the world. "Wild" represents a precious state of mind, one that is difficult to recognize when immersed within it. As readers, the ability to think and explore freely, without external political interference or societal constraints, and to let go of internal biases and insecurities, is incredibly valuable. Through a series of events, we hope to express gratitude to Taiwan's land and inclusivity, allowing us to establish a space where creativity can flourish freely.

The Wild Reader Festival reminds us to re-embrace the identity of "readers"⎯
