National Lineman Appreciation Day | I've shot for quite a few utility companies over the years and have spent more than my fair share of time up in buckets photographing the men and women who help keep the lights on. This set of images was shot during the aftermath of Hurricane/Superstorm Sandy. The last image of crews heading out was shot at Ft. Meyer's in Arlington, Virginia. The remaining images are from northern New Jersey where Dominion Energy crews were helping the New Jersey electrical companies get back on their feet. The crews were super welcoming to me - I stayed with them in temporary housing provided by FEMA and they gassed up my truck every night. The best part was seeing the residents of New Jersey greet the lineman/linewomen and bring them coffee or cakes they made on propane stoves. These folks have a tough job in all sorts of difficult weather conditions.
