LIGHTHOUSE — Sonos Studio — 2013
“Light House” by SOFTlab was an installation made of Sonos speakers and 600 fluorescent lights that pulsed and rippled in response to music, representing how sound fills a space. Different speakers, frequencies and beats-per-minute elicited different light patterns. The piece also functioned as a responsive "bandshell" for live performances, including Washed Out, Bleached, and Crystal Method. We also hosted live Q&As and performances to release albums by The Lonely Island, Soko, and Pretty Lights. We premiered The Black Lips documentary "Kids Like You and Me", and a beatmaking workshop with Da Internz.
