ET Intellectual Property
ART DIRECTION, BRANDING, DIGITAL DESIGN & WEBSITE DESIGN : AUGUST - NOVEMBER 2023

"ET Intellectual Property (formerly Ellis Terry) is a boutique intellectual property law firm, founded in 2009 by former partners of one of New Zealand’s oldest and largest intellectual property firms. Established to serve a local and international client base, but with a strong New Zealand client focus, we provide advice and expertise in all aspects of intellectual property.
We offer legal and strategic advice to innovative entrepreneurs, corporations, inventors, designers, and artists. Our patent attorneys are experts in mechanical, electrical, computer and software engineering."

Ellis Terry were in the process of rebranding to ET Intellectual Property and they approached me to design their new logo. Their existing logo was set in Calibri in a medium-light blue. Together, we explored six initial design directions and an analysis of the competition before choosing the final design and new brand colour.

The new logo is a very confident, minimal, bold and surprising monogram. It is friendly and warm while remaining professional and direct. The new brand colour was chosen after determining an oversaturation of blues, greens and greys in the market, and embraces rich vibrancy with an unexpected and exciting shade of deep wine purple.

With the branding finalised, I worked on a redesign of the company website from the ground up, utilising new 3D renders of the branding and a bespoke set of iconography. (The website itself is still under construction.)
