"DAY 45"
Thrilled to share my latest passion project with my son Damien: “DAY 54.” The image depicts a boy and his trusty Robot, standing strong amidst the aftermath of a fierce storm that ravaged their family home. This imaginative tale was born out of a simple moment - creating cardboard armor for Damien. Who knew that a little DIY fun could spark such an epic adventure?
The BTS Video of the scene was created in Blender 4.0.2 (Cycles Render). Damien and the background are photos. I was able to use real-time compositing by importing images as planes and setting them up in the 3D space. I modeled and textured the Robot and also created a cute monster stuffy. I used AI to create an image of the stuffy and then projecting that onto a sculpted mesh. This is my first time using AI to create an asset and it worked perfectly for something that was in the background. Plus, I couldn't resist burying a little Easter egg - one of my favorite albums, Rush's 2112, hidden in the sand! Huge shoutout to the incredible Ian Hubert for some of his photogrammetry assets that grounded the scene in reality. 🙌
