NEW EAST FESTIVAL / SCREEN DESIGN

I was commissioned by my friend and great animator @Marc Càlichs to work on the screen and floor design proposals for the New East Festival 2023 inside the IDEAL Centro de Artes Digitales https://idealbarcelona.com, a high-tech gallery with 3D, immersive and audio-visual artist exhibits in Barcelona, Spain. The New East Festival is a multimedia exhibition sharing groundbreaking work from contemporary artists from across Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia.

The initial task was to produce large concept compositions (4000x1200 px) that would be later projected onto a variety of walls

Secondary task was to produce the compositions for floor projections (4400x5000 px), which were to be projected onto the floor of the room during the event.

The aim was to create interesting compositions using photography and typography, but avoiding the excessive intervention of the photographs, being one of the focal points of the festival.
