Big Boys is the breakout comedy from Jack Rooke, about two mismatched boys who strike up an unlikely friendship at university. Series 2 promised to be the best series yet, so we needed our socials to be even bigger and better.

In the build-up to Series 2, we capitalised on the popularity of YouTube recap videos by creating a recap video of Series 1. To bring Channel 4's tone of voice and make it better than a compilation video, we collaborated with 4Voice, who do the channel's continuity announcements on TV. Their tongue-in-cheek style brought the video together, and made for a really impressive technical edit.

I also edited digital extension content for YouTube, where the cast played the 'Unlucky Dip' challenges and dropped some hilarious answers. This kind of content is YouTube-first, and really matched the popular formats that have success on YouTube.

We also created social cuts of every episode for YouTube, Facebook and Instagram and TikTok. Some of our strongest performers on TikTok were the scandalous gloryhole moment; Danny getting pied on a night out; Tariq wondering who the father is; and Danny's emotional scene about choosing family, with these TikToks gaining a million views in total.

A personal highlight was a reactive edit, where we thought a creative edit of the scenes with Maddy from The Traitors could perform well. I delivered the edit an hour later, and the two edits with Maddy gained 500,000 views.
