I have a very peculiar way of sketching, which is basically a set of circular lines creating intersections. My pop art emerged from this graphic pattern, making the most of the shapes that I identify as perfect for filling.
Following this line, I started to incorporate a stylization of my pop art into the pencil and color technique, aiming for something more gestural and organic. This allows me to navigate between the two proposals, strong visual appeal and traditional art, efficiently and respectfully towards the theme, in this case, the beautiful couple Taís Araujo and Lázaro Ramos.
Often, I use the sketch over the sketch: the first one helps to define the shape, and the second deepens the detailing. But it's during the filling stage that I start to define volumes and characteristics of the subject in a more focused manner, paying attention to the nuances of the physiognomy.
I'm not so familiar with what the media has been collecting over the years about the couple. I've seen their work, and it's easy to perceive the commitment and the conveyed sense of how much they enjoy what they do. But I must confess that what I find most iconic about the two of them is the melody of their voices when they communicate, the immense warmth of their smiles, and the strength of their presence captured in photos or videos.
I haven't met them personally yet, but I would be happy to know what they think of this tribute, immortalizing them through my art.
