ILLUSTRATING THE JOY OF HOCKEY
illustration & Design for Truly Fan Can experience at 2024 NHL All-star Fan fair event.
As a studio based in Toronto and as creators deeply influenced by hockey culture since childhood, we are thrilled to be invited to create illustrations for TRULY at the 2024 NHL All-Star Fan Fair event. Drawing from our passion for hockey culture and our unique perspective on the sport as artists, we have artistically depicted two illustrations with hockey themes in our art style. A major highlight of this event is that hockey fans can take photos on-site and have them printed on Truly cans alongside our artwork. The final display format for these two pieces will be in monochrome, using Truly brand colors and offering six different hues for fans to choose from. Through this approach, we are 'collaborating' with hockey fans to collectively create unique art cans, sharing in the joy of this event.

HOCKEY DANCE
The movements and body language of ice hockey players are particularly unique compared to other sports. The contrast between their running and gliding resembles a sort of dance on ice. Thus, by depicting scenes of hockey players colliding and using similar color schemes, we pay homage to the works of the Fauvist art master Henri Matisse, particularly his piece 'Dance', and hence, we named our artwork 'Hockey Dance'. Because to us, ice hockey is artistic and joyful.

CHEER ON ICE
This illustration depicts a scene of ice hockey players toasting after the end of a game. For most people, the joy of sports comes from the activity itself, rather than from winning or losing. The characters in the illustration are celebrating the enjoyable time spent playing hockey with friends and commemorating a wonderful day spent in an active way. Although it's a hockey-themed illustration, we have extensively used warm and highly saturated bright hue to convey our feelings, hoping to inspire more people to participate in and enjoy the happiness brought about by hockey.
