Source of Hope’s Disaster Relief Missions

Stephen K. Robert is a member of the board of trustees of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation and the Perez Art Museum of Miami. He is also a member of the investment committee of the Peter G. Peterson Foundation. In 2009, Stephen Robert co-founded the Source of Hope Foundation with his wife Pilar Crespi Robert. Among other charitable activities, the foundation provides relief and aid to people experiencing natural disasters.

In 2019, Hurricane Dorian ripped through the Bahamas and devastated thousands of homes in the country. The hurricane left the small island nation without electricity and potable water. Source of Hope funded MercyCorps’ delivery of medical equipment and other relief materials to people on the island.

Likewise, when an earthquake devastated Haiti in 2010, leading to a severe humanitarian crisis, Source of Hope provided funds that covered people’s healthcare bills. Similarly, Source of Hope was instrumental in building a new ultra-modern hospital in Mirebalais. The hospital was well-equipped and contained the first CT scanner in any government hospital in Haiti.
