DELTA1 Visual Identity

DELTA1 is a faux brand I created as a personal project to explore layout and media design through gaming & esports, specifically targeting the game Overwatch. This is a simple exporation and I hope to further refine the project in the future as I grow as a designer.

The brands ideals are to be sharp and cunning, a cut above the rest in the world of competitive Overwatch. A neon-esq red color combined with angular shape language and bold typography helps guide DELTA1 towards their goals visually and creatively.
The beginning of the design process started with wanting to welcome in players for this faux team through announcement posts via social media. 

The designs below were created to fit a multitude of media proportions, but are also capable of being fitted into taller or wider shapes to more accuratley fit size requirements across different social media accounts.

Additionally a group introduction/promotion post was created in tandum to announce the full roster as one entity under DELTA1.
To pair with the beginnings of our social media adventure as a new brand, I designed a simple icon and banner pairing that again can be restructured to fit different proportion requirements among various social medias.
Since we are a competeing team we need to be able to visually let fans and followers know about when we play, who we play, where they can watch, and match results.

More themed imagery combined with our bold type and angular shape language keeps the brand consistent throughout posts, but allows for easy duplication of singular posts that could host different copy pending DELTA1's needs.
The final consideration for media created were simple call to action/community outreach style posts that aim to engage the community more through interaction directly with the DELTA1 brand.

This small exploratory project taught me much about efficient layouts, digital typesetting, organization within a brand startup specifically for digital/web, and how to incorperate my interests and passions into learning design in an engaging way.


I aim to create, produce, and publish another small branding project akin to this one but at a higher caliber, taking what I have learned through trial and error with creating DELTA1 and its visual identity outside of branding alone.
