It was a wonderful privilege to work with the folks at Monstercat to craft a custom word mark for their new label called Monstercat Silk. From initial sketches to the final vector logotype, this word mark evokes and represents the style and musical sound of the artist collective for Monstercat Silk.

Working closely with the team at Monstercat, I created some initial explorations in a brush script ink style showcased in the many styles and variations below.
Ultimately, the client decided to go with something a bit more structured yet smooth and easy to read. So we changed gears to a carefully drawn word mark. Drawing with a pencil allowed for more direct control over details and overall structure of the word mark. Below are the final sketches presented to the client.
