Schlafly Biergarten Packaging & Label Design

Complete beer packaging and branding for Schlafly Beer and their sampler 12 pack: Biergarten. These Fall beers are German inspired and include the well known Oktoberfest, Bavarian Weiss, Munich Helles and Dunkel. The graphic design and illustration work takes inspiration from the Bavarian style houses & architecture, cobblestone streets and outdoor beer pubs.

Throughout the illustration work and graphic design of the packaging, it was my goal to bring an uplifting sunny presence. Each side of the case features a different Bavarian inspired illustration. Line them up and build a complete scene! Pull up a chair, have a seat in the beer garden and enjoy a traditional German-Style craft beer. PROST!

I love the way my custom pattern design adds just a little something to the horizontal layout of the label without detracting from the focal point of the beer name lettered by @jeremyfriend Clean design work is powerful on the shelf. Take note to the S used in the pattern to add that extra brand awareness.

This German-style Helles lager was first brewed to compete with the popular Czech Pilsners of the time. It’s a clean yet complex lager with pleasant spicy notes, delicate noble hops and a distinct white head. Don’t be fooled by its vibrant straw color, it’s more malt-forward than a light lager or a pilsner, with a crisp and dry finish.

The traditional Weissbier is one of Germany’s most distinct beer styles and is known for bringing people all over the world together. Our take on the style boasts an unmistakable fruity banana flavor with notes of clove. This malty and refreshing brew is hazy and light-golden in color with a medium-light body.

A dark German style beer deserves a sexy label.

Named after the German word for dark this classic German Lager is exceptionally smooth with a malt-forward flavor. Amber brown in color with a rich, medium-body it refreshes like a true lager, yet it’s made to be savored slowly. Discover the complexity of flavor including nutty, caramels and toasted bread from the malts.

A classic crowd-pleaser authentic in its execution and evocative of its heritage. Oktoberfest is clean and balanced in its amber color, sweetness and toasted malts. This traditional Märzen originated in 16th-century Bavaria, where it was one of the last beers to be brewed for the season before being lagered in stone cellars for the summer. Given months to ferment, it was ready to enjoy at the Bavarians’ fall celebration—“Oktoberfest.”
