SteenWende is a plan for a nature-inclusive residential ensemble in Hoorn. It utilizes the housing concept WijsWonen, allowing vital elderly residents to live together in a close-knit and future-proof community.
At drip visual we were responsible for visual representation of the competition entry and the key challenge here was a close collaboration with landscape architects to convey the nature-inclusive character as well as unique and well thought through biome in which architecture is nestled.
The concept diagram for SteenWende Estate by Space&Matter in collaboration with Faunest. The architecture finds inspiration in the horizontal character of the original peat landscape, with open water, long banks and extensive lawns. This results in a horizontally layered design that turns the carefully positioned volumes into a harmonious whole.
