Iris Hantverk: Body Brush 3D

This personal project captures the timeless craftsmanship the brand is renowned for through detailed 3D modelling and rendering. Modelling was done in Modo and rendered with Octane.
In the late 1900s, small brush manufacturer started out in Stockholm, Sweden. It was so successful that it still thrives today. Now, as then, every brush is handmade by visually impaired craftsmen to traditional techniques.
Once the wood is sawn, milled and sanded, it is finished with oil or lacquer. Then, holes are drilled and wire is looped through to hold the bristle bundles in place.
For this project, we modelled the wooden base and cut the holes with mesh fusion. Modo fur was used to construct the bristles, which were converted to curves for rendering. The wood texture is a layered mixture of Octane procedurals, while the bristles use an octane hair material.
