“Bad things do happen; how I respond to them defines my character and the quality of my life...." (Walter Anderson)
I've always wanted to do a "grown up" version of these characters. The zombie thing has been done to death, and I'll be honest that was my first tack when I started sketching. But Early on I knew I needed something...else...to make these people grow. I wanted to convey that each of them found a personal strength and a strength together to be resilient, realistic, and lethal. No more just a pretty boy, a girly-girl, a nerd, a stoner, and an idiot dog, these people are grown up, and survivors against the supernatural terrors out there (look behind the big gate).
ANYWAYS...pulled out all the stops here: Daz 3D and Illustrator for references, Photoshop for all the painting, details, compositing, rolled up inside several months off an on in between paying projects. Tons of hand-painted details and agonizing over composition. I'm proud of how it turned out. I'd die to see this as a movie.
