I try to do a lot of little thumbnail sketches in my moleskine during down time. Some of them, like this one, are the seeds of bigger pieces. Others, like the ones below, help me work out details in the work-in-progress.

Render I put together in Blender to use a reference for the lighting on the hook. Chroma-keyed it so I could separate it in flash.
