An alternative poster commissioned by the director (Bia Catbagan) of the short documentary film Letters to the Future.

 

Was part of a roster of artists chosen to reinterpret the poster of the short documentary film Letters to the Future, each with their own theme related to sending letters to a future self. Mine was about sending letters to an apocalyptic future.

 

Concept: It's basically a play on the usual twists of science fiction stories, factoring in the letter to a future self in the time of an apocalypse, which, in this case, is caused by an automaton, and a human who developed a relationship that could potentially save the world, throwing away the only chance of destroying it. Potentially, because it doesn't work out, and the automaton proceeds with destroying the world. So the hero (human), travels back in time, to tell his "future self" through a letter, that sometimes sacrifices have to be made, and that not everyone (or everything) can be saved.
