Kent Combs is Great Britain's oldest comb company, in existence though ten reigns of the royal family. Kent & Sons is a sub-brand of Kent Combs offering an exclusively handmade product. The identity created for Kent & Sons embraces this handmade heritage in a way that feels unmistakably British, utilizing two famously English typefaces, Baskerville & Gill Sans as well as an iconically British color scheme.
An innovative packaging system was designed for their extensive family of handmade combs utilizing minimalist graphic comb illustrations and a naming system based on famous Brits (with good hair) throughout history.
A communication campaign was developed for the launch of the Kent & Sons brand, based on the core concept KENT WAS THERE. The campaign playfully looks back at the history of the commonwealth over the last ten reigns, celebrating a simple fact — Kent Combs was there through it all. KENT WAS THERE is a way to celebrate British style and culture, while at the same time highlighting both the longevity of the Kent brand and the enduring relevance of it's products.
