Molly Donald // Honours Student 2024

My creative practice is very open and experimental. I enjoy exploring and combining different areas of designs such as graphic design, illustration, and photography. This year I have participated in various workshops such as Risograph and Screen Printing to learn new skills and techniques which I can then apply to and enhance my work with. This year I have worked on three projects which have allowed me to be experimental with different ideas, media, and techniques.

From my time in studio, I have developed a passion for pattern design and textures. This passion is the inspiration behind the Pattern a Day project and the topic of my dissertation, which investigated the hidden meaning behind the use of pattern. My second project is called Canine Discrimination which raises awareness on the discrimination and stereotypes that many dogs face because of their appearance or breed. I wanted to take an alternative route within this project to highlight the importance of education regarding breed awareness, good dog ownership and understanding dog behaviour.

My last project was a competition brief to design a new cover for the book, Daisy Jones and the Six.
