Not Your Ordinary Maze

Our maze game is designed to challenge the critical and analytical thinking skills of children. The difficulty level is set in a way that can only be overcome through persistent efforts, encouraging kids to try again and again. This approach aims to keep the child engaged in the game for an extended period, fostering prolonged cognitive engagement.

it consists of 4 layers and a small polyhedron acting as slope

The target audience for our maze game is children aged 7 to 11, who are in the Concrete Operational Stage of cognitive development. This stage is characterized by the mastery of logic in concrete ways. The term "concrete" in this context denotes things that are tangible, visible, touchable, or directly experienced. The game is designed to align with the cognitive abilities and developmental needs of children in this age group, providing them with a tangible and engaging experience that complements their concrete thinking skills.

The dimensions of the toy is 125 x 110 x 18 mm.

The ideation phase for the toy was extensive, and the process of selecting the final design was prolonged. Various approaches were considered to determine how the toy could effectively engage children. One notable concept involved allowing the child to construct the maze personally. Several maze patterns were experimented with, and ultimately, the loop design was chosen. This decision was based on its ability to cover the maximum area within the given space.

This maze game distinguishes itself from others because, in the event of being caught by a trap, players are required to restart from the beginning. This unique feature piques the child's interest further, as even after reaching the destination, the challenging nature of the game motivates them to attempt it again.

During the prototype phase, various maze patterns were systematically tested to determine their manufacturability. Additionally, a comprehensive assessment of different materials and textures was conducted to identify those that would provide users with a superior hands-on experience and a more tactile feel.

The top of the maze is enclosed with a thin acrylic sheet, ensuring that the small marble cannot be lost. This design feature allows you to carry the toy wherever you please without any concerns about misplacing the marble. The compact size of the toy also makes it convenient to bring along when traveling, offering an easy way to engage and entertain a child wherever your journey takes you.
