With RBX, my main goal was to experiment with the most basic 3D object, which happened to be a cube. The inspiration largely stemmed from observing a Rubik's Cube broken into pieces. This sparked the idea of creating a seating arrangement by utilizing stacked cubes.
With its hollow interior, it also serves as a storage solution, transforming it into an object that can seamlessly blend into any part of our house without drawing attention. It can be effortlessly positioned in a corner and effortlessly assimilate into the background.
The dimensions of the stool are 40 x 40 x 40 cm. These measurements have been carefully chosen, taking into account the 95th percentile of men's thigh width. The hollow inside measures 36 x 36 x 40 cm. The lid has a thickness of 2.5 cm, and the base thickness extends up to 1.5 cm.
The primary idea behind this concept was to enable stacking of these stools in malls or parks, offering flexibility in various configurations for people's convenience. This stacking feature also serves to create barriers around individuals, ensuring that personal space is respected and maintained. Additionally, the incorporated storage system was designed with the intention for people to utilize these stools in their homes as well.
