Week 1:
This week is the start of my development journey, first is finding a team of co-developers to help with the project. This project is all about experimental game design. I advertised myself to my peers as a scripter looking a team. I ended up finding a team with another scripter, a UI designer and a 3d modeller. We started chatting and getting to know each other.
Week 2:
This week we needed to come up with an idea for our game, one that is experimental and unique, we all wanted to do something using VR as it is a medium for experimentation within game design. In the end we came up with three ideas for an experimental game loop. Idea one was a game where the player controls a puppet on string with their VR hands and guides them along a play. Idea two was a rhythm game set in a shopping centre, with the player scanning items along to the music. We also had an idea to make it so that rather than scanning the items to the beat of the music, it was more of a sandbox take where the player was free to use the items to make their own music. Idea three was a horror game where the player
Week 3:
This week was focused on a presentation regarding our game ideas. While most groups had only one game idea that was fleshed out, we had three ideas that were all partially fleshed out. Our idea of the puppet game was the most thought out however, for the presentation we had prepared an idea for the game's art style and general premise. The idea was to make a game where you act out a play using a puppet and have to follow along with the story.
Week 4: This week I created the puppet we would use for the game.
