THE PEACE PART. 3 EXHIBITION

Fine Arts
[ABOUT THE SPACE] - TEN YEARS OF EXPERIENCE. ONE YEAR OF MAKING. Immerse yourself within the imaginary landscape of stillness and peacefulness. Embrace your own weaknesses, your flaws or any imperfections. Forgive yourself and heal yourself from within.

One of the biggest questions we encountered when planning for the presentation of the art print was what we should do with its surroundings. Instead of a traditional set up of an exhibition space, what else could we bring to the table and present something slightly different to its audiences. I like the fact that the space shall not be overly spacious, something cozy and intimate, and something that could echo the core message of the art print. We decided the space shall be an extension of the art print, it shall showcase what the art print would sit outside its frame and border. The overall space is considered to be part of the artwork, it’s a space to learn about mindfulness, stillness and peacefulness. ⁣

Three smaller murals were created based on the idea of the imaginary landscape where the art print would sit, in this vast imaginary desert with strangely looking sculptures/ statues. They are all considered to be the cousins of the art print, and each depicts an aspect of humanity in my own interpretation. Being surrounded by the murals and art print, while the copper plate is displayed in the middle as the highlight of the space. Incense being burnt in the middle as a way to create a visual and sensual impression to its audiences, and deliver a sensational journey of my world via our five senses. A sanctuary for feelings and emotions, where being isolated from the outside world.⁣
