The cities were born when the communities decided to organize their own lives around specific areas according to the services required. The public spaces became places to meet people, sell goods and food, hold religious rituals, take part in common activities and use public services. Nowadays the city squares have been replaced with trade centers that turn people into just customers.
Intothefood’s project aims to convert the tablemate’s perception: the museum space is seen as a public space. The illusion of staying in an open space makes people feel like being a part of the same community. People can make their own choice in taking one of the bundles, exactly like farmers used to do in the in the past, join the tablecloths and share the food with neighbors. We want to promote a healthy social aggregation whose values are barely found in our daily lives. The recovery of the balance in the relationship between man and society can heal the decadence that currently involves cities, communities and public spaces.
