The Floating World Exhibition at Gulbenkian

InDesign
Floating World: ‘ukiyo-e’ Japanese prints exhibition, showcases the fleeting world of play and entertainment, exceptionally illustrated through Gulbenkian’s limited editions of woodcut prints from 17th to 19th centuries.
A conceptual, and very typographical verticalness, symbolises life, while at the same time is horizontally transgressed with ephemeral pleasures. The simplicity and minimalism of the lettering evokes a visual state of suspended dreamlike world, characteristic of the Edo period Japanese Prints. The exhibition’s visual design concept identity and coming catalogue book were developed in close collaboration with Gulbenkian’s curating, editorial and exhibition design team.
