Introducing Matter
Currently (2022), consumers are trapped within a single smart home ecosystem or using multiple ecosystems. Matter is a new connectivity standard that bring different smart home devices together. Nordic Semiconductor is one of the driving forces behind this shift in technology. We got the task to explain the importance of Matter in revolutionizing the smart home market.
The objective of the animated explainer was to create a visually striking film that effectively communicates the significance of Matter and its impact on consumers' daily lives. The goal was to reach a wide audience in a simple, efficient, and sophisticated manner.
Through the transformative capabilities of smart bulbs and colored lighting, we crafted a range of moods that reinforced the message conveyed in the film. Colors were also used to distinguish different smart home ecosystems until the introduction of Matter. With Matter's unified standard, the need for distinct colors diminished, fostering a cohesive and interoperable smart home experience.
We created a video that flows effortlessly by using strategic camera angles, seamless editing techniques, and smooth transitions. This not only improves the streamlined presentation of the product but also effectively demonstrates the seamless integration of different smart devices in a smart home.
The explainer was well received in the industry, with many praising the stunning visuals. Its simple, efficient, and sophisticated approach reached a wide audience, establishing Nordic Semiconductor as a leading force in the development of smart home ecosystems. A nice little bonus was that it also received a nomination for Best Explainer Film at the Visuelt 2023 Awards.
