I made fabric design for a fairtrade shop "Teebom" .

Actually I completed it one and a half year ago but due to covid situation, artisans in India 🇮🇳 couldn't proceed with their work smoothly and also there were a lot of discussions and feedback between the shop owner and the local coordinator  for improvement .. so finally when the finished fabric arrived at the shop from far India , I was so moved and then relieved.

Design elements consist of some musical instruments like Piano, Sax, Harp, and also Indian ones as Tabla and Sitar with my favourite cuties bird and rabbit. I sketched wishing for a peaceful world of music and living creatures.

 

This method is called "wood block print" and the big sound the artisan makes surprises us as follows. The fabric is made little by little, one by one.. it really takes time.

This fabric is available in 3 colors: Chrome yellow, Light Grey and Teal (blue) and big handkerchief (bandana), female shirt, bags, etc. were made from it so far.
