Reviving a Sydney icon with a temptatious Italian renaissance story

SQUAD & Fellow Hospitality—alongside design partner Tom Mark Henry—developed a holistic concept that informed every aspect of the boutique hotel brand, design and experience. Located on Pitt Street Sydney, the building’s Italian architectural heritage, combined with its distinctive three parts (bar, hotel and rooftop), were the springboard from which we conceived the creative concept; The Divine Comedy, a long narrative poem written by Dante Alighieri (circa 1308–21). Divided into three major sections (Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso), Dante narrates a journey from darkness and temptation to the revelation of the divine light.
A special thank you to Reward and Accor and our creative partners that helped bring to life our collective vision for this revitalised historical Sydney gem.
