PortSaid Sketchwalk-02

Greetings, art enthusiasts! I'm excited to share the latest creations from our recent sketch walk in collaboration with Urban Sketchers Egypt. This time, we explored the historic city of Port Said, capturing two iconic landmarks: the Port Said Ferry and the old lighthouse.
The Old Lighthouse, a guiding beacon since its establishment in 1869. This historical landmark has played a pivotal role in ensuring the safe passage of ships through the Suez Canal. It stands as a testament to Port Said's maritime history and its enduring significance. It also held a unique place in the social life of the city, with its alarms not only regulating the work routine of the Suez Canal Company but also serving as cues for various daily activities, including meal preparation and gatherings.
The Port Said Ferry is an essential lifeline connecting Port Said and Port Fouad. facilitating the daily commute of locals and serving as a vital link between the two sister cities on either side of the Suez Canal.
Through our sketches, we aim to document and celebrate Port Said's heritage. Stay tuned for more glimpses of our artistic journey and the stories these sketches have to tell.
