For this project I required to design a wall mounted alarm control panel with a matching PRI sensor. My approach to this design is to improve the product not just on aesthetics but looking at the technical and functional abilities of the control panel. My final design simplified the interaction process by eliminating the access code and replacing it with a finger print scanner. The design also incorporated a soft touch cover on the front of the panel that would hide the screen untill users interact with the product. The screen will appear due to light being able to shine through the soft touch film. The control panel also has a subtle back lighting to create the illusion of it floating off the wall as well a differnt way of mounting it to the wall. 

The project also required us to look at the manufacture of the product so an initial analysis of how precedent product are manufacture was used to look for errors where manufacture could be improved. 

The mounting of the product uses a wedging system to mount the control panel to the wall. The wall mount part uses two screws easily level product when mounting. The main component slides and wedges itself securely to the wall mount with a small screw to ensure the product will not be eaily removed form the wall mount.

I wanted allow for users to customize the product if the wanted to. This done through selecting preferable colour for back lighting as well as the colour of the soft touch film over the top of the product.
