As designers we are often asked to design under certain constraints imposed upon us by our clients, utilising only a restricted number of fonts and colours to fit our clients brief. This brief took this reality and forced us as designers to design out side the obvious under a set number of constraints.
Given a set text titled ‘Penstrokes to Keystrokes’ we were asked to design a 7 fold concertina booklet which utilised the grid structure to create a design with the restraints of utilising a maximum of two typefaces and two printing inks per side.
The final result is to present a double sided concertina booklet which abides by these constraints whilst delivering the audience with a ‘formal’ and an ‘informal’ side.
