While long scroll pages are in vogue it is not often clear to users that additional site content exists below the viewport. This usability issue becomes much more pervasive as your audience shifts from 40 and younger to 40 and older.
Though studies have shown mobile users are very “scroll-first” to get a 30-thousand foot view of the page, desktop users still expect their needs to be met within the initial viewport.
I wanted to do a quick exercise in simple animated gifs that offer users a much needed visual indicator that additional page content exists below their viewport.
