In this cooperation project with the Wahl company, we were briefed to design a hair- clipper /trimmer set for professional use.
With my concept I wanted to free the hair clippers from their negative reputation, which they have in the eyes of the clients, who rather prefer to have their hair cut traditionally with scissors. Therefore I decided to design a machine that has a sophisticated look that is inspiring confidence.

I used the ring element, as a characteristic form known from traditional scissors, to create a connection between every hairdresser primary tool (the scissors) and the not so popular electric hair clipper. The combination of these two items opens a whole new range of application possibilities for every stylist.
The new ergonomics of the machine give the hairdresser the opportunity to work in a creative and free way, because he no longer has to put down the clipper when he has to use the comb. He just can playful swap the machine on the back of his hand, without losing control of it.

The scissor clipper offers a new experience to every professional hairdresser and supports him in his creativeness and individuality.
My design was chosen by the company WAHL to develop further and the final product is now available as MOTION and MOTION nano on the professional market and can be purchased through their website or the customer service.
