//  Brief: Leica + Scissors  //  2nd phase: Concept Finalisation and Working Prototype  //
//  1 week, Group project with Jack Hooper and James Lo, UK, London, IDE, 2013  //
Brief:
For this 1 week project we got a concept from an other group of our course, which we needed to prove and adapt (if necessary) and then build a working prototype that is made out of less than 3 parts and ready for „mass-production“, because this project was then handled over to another group, which had to make 9 identical products.
We were lucky getting a strong concept:
A device distributed to the 3rd world that enable the production of pinhole glasses out of cardboard. These pinhole glasses have the amazing property, that they affect the focal point of the human eye and therefore improve sight for eyes with a refractive error. We thought a pinhole glasses punch would be a good method to produce these glasses in an affordable, fun way.
We first tested which method of piercing through cardboard or paper works best and then build a punch using the visual language of the Leica brand.
