I wanted a bit of a floral drawing challenge and settled upon the Japanese chrysanthemum because of its spider leg-like petals. The goal was to create a dynamic shape that could translate into both a pattern or stand alone print.
Because I wanted to focus on just one flower type, I supplemented the design with three different types of foliage to compliment the Chrysanthemum.
The refined sketch and final floral outlines were created on a 3300x3000px art board in Procreate. The final pattern and print were finished in Photoshop.
