This is experimental motion, made with Adobe AfterEffects for the new media art show Outdoor Vision Fest 2014 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The summary included in the festival program was 'an experimental video installation about witches ruling the desert'.
This film was shot simultaneously with a music video that my Assistant Directior, Novia Stone (who also stars) conceptualized and directed for J Cannon, a young hip hop mogul in Los Angeles. The two of us, having recently gone through a violent , depressing period in our environment began these projects with little real enthusiasm or optimism. Together we wound up making two successful projects, in time for the festival.
To me this represents the culmination of many artistic endeavours, including my bent on experimental video, my obsessions with Sailor Moon, witches, the 90s, and AfterEffects. It is not meant to be anything other than a passion project.
Shot on location in Santa Fe, New Mexico and Tesuque, New Mexico.
